Responsibilities of Office
The Office of Strategic Communications provides the public and university community with information regarding the actions and policies of the board of curators and the university administration. The office’s responsibilities including increasing awareness of, and support for, the university’s unique role as the state’s public research university and the aggregate impact of the four campuses in advancing Missouri in so many dimensions.
Through collaboration with the university’s four campuses, strategic communications integrates all aspects of communications with the strategic priority initiatives of the president and the board of curators. Aimed at ensuring the citizens of Missouri understand and value the role of public higher education in the state, the department leads a statewide integrated marketing communications effort, including internal and external constituent outreach, media relations, executive communications, Web development, advertorials and a variety of social media initiatives.
