Warren K. Erdman
Warren K. Erdman was appointed to the University of Missouri Board of Curators in 2007 by Gov. Matt Blunt.
Erdman is executive vice president administration and corporate affairs for Kansas City Southern. KCS is a transportation holding company that has railroad investments in the U.S., Mexico and Panama. Erdman is responsible for the administration and external affairs of the company. His external affairs responsibilities include state, local and federal regulatory affairs and government relations, industrial development and communications for the company. His responsibilities include long-term project development and planning to meet the long-term infrastructure needs of the railroad and the communities it serves. His administrative responsibilities include the KCS legal department, claims, real estate and industrial development facility and the railroad policy and security functions in the U.S.
Prior to joining Kansas City Southern in 1997, Erdman served as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Christopher S. Bond of Missouri. In that capacity, he was the chief staff person in charge of the senator's operations in his Washington office and six local offices in Missouri. Erdman served former Missouri Gov. John Ashcroft in the governor's office in 1985, and served former Missouri Gov. Bond in the governor's office between 1981 and 1984.
Erdman is a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. and is iOn Dec. 31, 2011, he completed a term as chairman of the University of Missouri Board of Curators, the governing body of the University of Missouri System. He is also a member of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Trustees.
Erdman is on the board of directors of Dickinson Financial of Kansas City, Mo. He serves on the board of several U.S. rail industry associations. He is former chairman of the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Mo. He serves on the executive committee and board of directors of the Kansas City, Missouri Downtown Council, the board of directors of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is a former director of the Starlight Theater.
Previously, Erdman was appointed to the Missouri Apportionment Commission by Missouri Gov. Holden, and served as vice chairman; was appointed to the Missouri State Government Review Commission by Gov. Matt Blunt and served as co-chairman; and he was appointed by Governor Jay Nixon as a member of the Missouri Economic Stimulus Council. All of these appointments have expired.
Erdman and his wife Jenny are the parents of son, August Warren Erdman, and daughter, Audrey Lee Erdman and live in Kansas City, Mo.
